So I recently picked up a new job as a developer. I'll of course still try to do some stuff for the camera store as it'll bring in additional income when I am not coding. The new job is pretty much with Marcus Jenkins again, we've had an off and on business relationship over the last several years usually contracted to do some coding for him every now and then. Well he got a new office setup near the airport and as such decided to hire me on. So while he'll be primarily concentrating on the design and flash side of things (as well as the tasks endowed to a CEO of a company), I'll be focusing my energy on the technical side of things such as coding, problem-solving/research, consultation.

As a result of the above hiring I had to look into a new machine for work purposes. I wasn't about to use my self-built desktop which I keep at home with the very large (and heavy) dual monitor setup. I also was not going to use my wife's laptop, and of course the accommodation at the office didn't seem to my taste for the task (he uses only Apple products, but has not yet upgraded to the intel macs, which I need for development purposes and for testing other platforms.) So I basically did some research and decided the best course of action while still being practical was one of the lower end apple macbooks, upgraded the rams some and everything else worked peachy. Already got it setup for a test bench with apache/php/mysql locally and got bootcamp and vmware fusion running just fine. After using it for a week now I'm actually rather impressed considering this is apple's cheapest available laptop. And there was very little trouble finding plenty of useful but free (opensource) software and utilities. Not to mention Windows XP runs like a charm on this thing (though I haven't really used it except for testing IE, and for loading up one of my older games such as Doom 3, Sims 2, Warcraft III, or one of the many other older games).

Clarkie is doing well. He is now over 14lb which is quite a growth from the 1lb 13oz he was born at. In just a couple months (june) he'll be one year old (if he was delivered at term he would be about 6 months old). He's sitting up on his own, will pulverize those toddler puff snacks, and can gum a celery stick to death. The above picture was taken yesterday next to our fatty Bwca.

Also we're expecting #2 later this year.
